The goal of the “Tech E.I.G. Project” is to challenge and redirect the educated Ghanaian youth, especially the underemployed, to refocus their interest in emerging technologies into becoming technology entrepreneurs. This will therefore help reduce unemployment in the focus population and give them the opportunity to think big and to wake up sleeping innovators amongst the African youth. At the core of this project is innovation; not innovation to go into archives but to provide the focus population with the right framework and guidance; and also with the “Let’s do it attitude” to stir up the talents in the youth. This is all with the underlying understanding that innovation leads to job creation, which will help address the unemployment challenge, which has bedeviled Ghana for a long time.

Some of the positive experiences expected to be derived after implementation of this project activities will be reduced migration of our youth, especially to Europe and the Americas; reduced unemployment and therefore, reduction in some of the negative consequences associated with having a large unemployed youth, such as, serious crimes and in the extreme cases, wars. This project will bring to light the underpinnings of why the Ghanaian youth lack the drive to move forward great ideas and will eventually lead to awakening sleeping innovators amongst our youth. As a result of this project, there will be established publicized institutional approaches to drive the Ghanaian youth to think big and innovate. The government, investors and other stakeholders, will also benefit by way of taxes, return on investment and reduction in crime.

Let’s provide our youth with all that is needed to help them think big and move forward great ideas.

  1. Funding to sustain the Organization
  2. The Organization will appreciate the much needed financial support to implement and push the project idea into the focus population.

  3. Standby Funds 1 — Committed Reserves
  4. The organization is actively seeking individuals and organizations that believe in the “TechEIG Project” to help assure the participating youth teams that there will be financial support for any real marketable ideas they generate; and that there will be financial support to implement and bring to the market, their MVPs (minimum viable products).
This type of funds may only be committed and kept in reserves with special conditions as to when to disperse the funds and with a time limit. The conditions will also specify what to do with this committed fund if none of the participating youth teams meet the distribution requirement.

  5. Standby Funds 1 — Pre-qualification Direct Youth Engagement
  6. Once a participating youth team successfully identifies a real problem and comes up with marketable technological solution to the problem, by developing an MVP(minimum viable product), it is presented to TechEIG for evaluation and consideration for funding. At this point, the teams would have invested in the idea themselves by funding it up to the development of the MVP.
Some of these ideas, at this point, may not qualify to get the necessary funding but have the potential to meet funding requirements after some modifications. Such MVPs may have to go back to the drawing board with recommendations but the participating youth teams may need limited funding to apply suggested recommendations and/or work with recommended experts for improvement.
The organization is actively seeking individuals and organizations who believe in the “TechEIG Project” to help finance this aspect of the “The TechEIG project”.
